This project was to design two or more unifying event posters. I chose to created a set of souvenir posters for Of Monsters and Men's Fever Dream tour.
Previous albums by the band have had a lot of light to dark themes, however this particular album explores the ideas of surrealism and dreams. As I listened to the album, I realized that each song has an individual rhythm, movement and underlying emotion, while also having a collection of mystery in it’s lyrics and abstract sounds.
I wanted each image to display the abstract and organic feeling this album includes. I played with integration of waved lines to portray the feeling of musical sound waves flowing through and around you. Using unique patterns and textiles, I overlaid images to give a collaged print while also a readable image. The addition of overlaid images was inspired by the idea of different musical instruments coming together, all individual, yet complementing and completing each song.
Just like each song is individual, each poster represents a track on the album. Each image placed as well as color choices are inspired by their appropriate song and the feelings I received while listening.
