After finishing Kate Quinns book “The Huntress” the strong subject matter and deep imagery of the novel remained in my thoughts and inspired this moody title sequence. As the story covers multiple viewpoints, the plot follows  three main characters all searching for the elusive die Jägerin, a famous Nazi mistress, responsible for multiple cruel deaths during WW2.
Nina, a young soviet girl runs away from home after her father nearly drowns her in lake. Her journey leads her to become a bomber pilot in WW2. Ian, a WW2 reporter haunted by his past in the war is in search for the elusive Nazi after her responsibility for his brothers death.
Lastly, Jordyn dreams of being a famous photographer, but her father surprises her with a new stepmother who Jordyn suspects has many dark secrets in her past.
I included eerie music to add tension throughout the title sequence as well as a red filter to unite all the imagery and create a mysterious feeling. I created a photography darkroom in Cinema 4D, and incorporated images that captured the feeling and symbolism of this book. In After-Effects, I included footage of WW2 planes and paratroopers to give add dynamic pacing.
